Instructors Providing Training on the Grounds

We welcome a wide range of trainers

There are a few requirements though, for the safety of members and to ensure that everyone involved benefits.

Each new calendar year, in advance of the first time an instructor is booked in to use the facilities, they will need to provide copies the following documents:

  • Insurance
  • Enhanced CRB Check
  • First Aid Certificate

Proof of having attended training on Safeguarding and Protecting Children is also desirable.

The instructor does not need to be a member of the club, unless they ride on the grounds. Just like anyone else, instructors need to be a member to ride any horse on the grounds, even if they do not live in Guernsey (they may just need to find a local to volunteer to fulfil their helper stints!).

All instructors will be required to sponsor at least one class in a competition during the year(s) in which they teach on the grounds. The instructor can select the competition they wish to sponsor a class for and rosette design etc - some advertising, while supporting Club events.

For block bookings for training events, please contact Charlotte Breban to check availability of the facilities in advance - instructors will be welcome to advertise those through our facebook page and our email group (contact us with the details).

Anyone having a lesson will need to ensure they have paid the arena hire, either via the instructor, directly or by annual subscription.

If you have any queries about providing training or having lessons at the Club, please contact us.
